Computer MisuseEOF was asked by the HR department of a large blue-chip accountancy firm to investigate an allegation of pornography being downloaded onto company owned computers. The individual concerned was a member of the company's IT department which made the investigation all the more difficult and sensitive. For this reason, EOF arranged an out-of-hours visit to the company and took duplicated images of the individuals desktop and router network logs. These images were then analysed off-site and a report compiled. Upon submitting this evidence to the company HR department, the individual was asked to leave the company. |
